Mediterranean Marketplace was founded by three Canadians with a shared passion for exceptional food and authentic craftsmanship.

After decades living and working across Asia and travels to Europe, we saw an opportunity to connect adventurous consumers with some of the Mediterranean’s best-kept culinary treasures as well as products that are celebrated locally but often difficult to discover internationally.

Karen spent more than twenty years living and working throughout Southeast Asia, advising global brands while developing a deep appreciation for the region’s diverse food culture and evolving consumer tastes. Now based in Portugal, she works directly with artisan producers and family-owned businesses to source distinctive products that reflect the heritage, quality, and character of the Mediterranean.

Jack lived in China for fifteen years and developed a strong understanding of one of the world’s most dynamic consumer markets. Through years of experience navigating both Eastern and Western business cultures, he recognised the growing demand among consumers seeking authentic, premium products with a genuine story behind them.

Matt has made China his home for the past fourteen years. With a background that includes leadership roles within the expatriate business community, he brings invaluable local market knowledge and oversees the digital platforms, partnerships, and customer experience that make Mediterranean Marketplace accessible and seamless for shoppers across Asia.
